There are several brands on the Swedish market. Most have good manuals you can download from the internet, for example the French Somfy. Depending on how handy/interested you are, these can provide clues to a solution. It is difficult to give general tips on this as there are different engine types (radio or button controlled via touch switch), different automatics (solar and wind or just wind) and app control. If you are unlucky enough that the motor is broken, it is usually worth replacing it if the stand is otherwise in acceptable condition.
The coat lasts longer if it is removed during the winter. On many awning brands, the cover sits in its own groove in the front profile and can be easily removed. Provided that the awning is in such a way that it is easy to reassemble the coat. If awnings are high or hard to fit, leave the coat on.
For a long service life of the awning fabric, wash it regularly. This works best on awnings that sit on the ground floor where it is easy to access and wash. The easiest is to use the garden hose and rinse the awning in the unfolded position. Allow it to dry before folding the awning back in. We sell washing and impregnating agents for awning fabric if the dirt is stubborn. It may not be possible to remove everything, but the canvas will be fresher.
The awning stand is wiped with a damp cloth, possibly with a little general cleaning.
Be careful when greasing the awning stand, normally no greasing is needed. If you still need to lubricate, use thin oil or spray, type 5-56. Take care of the cloth and wipe off excess oil.
Do not lubricate the roller blind on the mechanism side, where the flat pin sits. The latches that make the roller blind stop stick and then stop working.
